Unfortunately I had no chance yet to change the resistors.
But the last days here were quite cold. What I don't get:
The last days, at constantly around -5°C, Mitsurunner worked perfect at the main unit. Defrosting EXACTLY every six hours. I was impressed. Now the temperaturs went up to -2°C and what happens? Every hour defrosting, even if neither the 5°C DELTA are touched nor the max. heating time was reached.
So:
I tried the 22k resistor, what was okay, but didn't work either 100% precise.
At the moment 27k resistor, what only works at -5°C properly.
Should I maybe install a 40k resistor, to pretend very cold environments? Because at those temperatures it worked best in the last days.
I would try a parallel 100k resistor. My Panasonic had defrosting problems when the outside temperature was around zero, and that kind of solution helped (my old Mitsu FD was very happy with 56k parallel resistor.)
The picture shows how to change the connection.
And again: If/when you reduce the value of the cheating resistor, make sure to check that the base plate heating works during the defrost cycle.
